Studies have identified the key components of ABA signaling in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), some of which regulate ABA responses by the transcriptional regulation of downstream genes. Here, we report the functional identification of rice (Oryza sativa) ABI5-Like1 (ABL1), which is a basic region/leucine zipper motif transcription factor.

Its stability or degradation plays a central role in abscisic acid response. Sumoylated at Lys-391 by SIZ1. Sumoylation protects ABI5 from proteasome degradation, attenuating ABA signaling and sensitivity to ABA… 2019-08-09 Comparison of seed and ABA-inducible vegetative gene expression in wild-type and abi5-1 plants indicates that ABI5 regulates a subset of late embryogenesis-abundant genes during both developmental stages. Responsible for reducing cadmium uptake, mediated by interaction with MYB49 . of ABI5 protein, whereas afp1 mutants were hypersensitive to ABA and had increased ABI5 accumulation (Lopez-Molina et al. 2003).

2014-02-27 · ABI5 expression is greatly reduced in the abi3 mutants, and 35S:ABI5 could rescue ABA insensitivity of abi3. Whether ABI3 is also a direct regulator of ABI5 awaits further investigation. Together, the ABI5 promoter may represent a converging point on which the transcriptional regulators of light and ABA signaling pathways integrate the signals of both pathways by fine-tuning ABI5 expression. The Arabidopsis abscisic acid (ABA)–insensitive abi5 mutants have pleiotropic defects in ABA response, including decreased sensitivity to ABA inhibition of germination and altered expression of some ABA-regulated genes.

A K391R substitution in ABI5 2019-12-02 · Since XIW1 affects ABI5 protein abundance, and both XIW1 and ABI5 are located in the nucleus in the presence of ABA, we wondered whether there is a direct interaction between XIW1 and ABI5.

We then measured ABI5 protein levels in seeds that were treated with ABA for 48 h. Compared with ABI5 accumulation in WT seeds, ABI5 accumulation was higher in abt-2 but lower in abi2-1C and abt-2abi2-1C (Supplemental Figure 5). These ABI5 levels were consistent with the ABA-sensitivity phenotypes of these lines.

Over-expression of AFP1 enhances tolerance to ABA and reduces ABI5 accumulation, whereas afp1 mutants are sensitive to ABA and have high levels of ABI5 (Lopez-Molinaetal.,2003).TherearethreeAFP1homologs(i.e. AFP2, AFP3, and AFP4) in the Arabidopsis genome, 2001-04-10 Comparison of seed and ABA-inducible vegetative gene expression in wild-type and abi5-1 plants indicates that ABI5 regulates a subset of late embryogenesis-abundant genes during both developmental stages. Responsible for reducing cadmium uptake, mediated by interaction with MYB49 . Further, we measured JA concentrations in Col‐0 and abi5‐7 with or without ABA treatment. As shown in Fig. 8(e), the JA concentrations were significantly increased in Col‐0 after ABA treatment, suggesting that ABA treatment can indeed promote JA biosynthesis. However, the ABA‐induced JA biosynthesis was reduced in abi5‐7 (Fig.

The Arabidopsis abscisic acid (ABA)-insensitive abi5 mutants have pleiotropic defects in ABA response, including decreased sensitivity to ABA inhibition of germination … ABA Insensitive 5 (ABI5) is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor that plays a key role in the regulation of seed germination and early seedling growth in the presence of ABA and abiotic stresses. ABI5 functions in the core ABA signaling, which is composed of PYR/PYL/RCAR receptors, PP2C phosphatases and SnRK2 kinases, through the regulation ABI5 modulates seed germination via feedback regulation of the expression of the PYR/PYL/RCAR ABA receptor genes.

The arrested, germinated embryos remain viable but quiescent, and osmotolerant as long as ABA is present.

These results indicate that ABI5 acts downstream of ABI3 to reactivate late embryogenesis programmes and to arrest growth of germinating embryos.

ABI5 interacts with PIF1, and promotes its binding on the common target genes of PIF1 and ABI5, possibly including ABI5 itself.
